Homework Assignments
 

To submit homework, create a zip file containing both source code and the executable file and email it to either bolz@its or ian@cs. Also include visual studio project and workspace files if possible, but please do not include intermediate build files. If you have done any extra credit or if you did not finish, please include a README file describing the difference between what you implemented and the basic requirements.

The first two homeworks do not require NV30.

Homework #1, due Wednesday, October 9th at 11:59pm: Description Start code
These documents (from NVidia) will be helpful for the first homework:

• Bump mapping with register combiners
• Programmable Texture Blending
• Vertex Programming "cheat sheet"

Homework #2, due Wednesday, October 16th at 11:59pm: Description Start code
These documents will be helpful for the second homework:

• Stable Fluids - This is the paper the assignment is based on.
• NVidia Register Combiners OpenGL Specification - You have probably already referred to this file many times in order to do homework one. It will continue to be an essential resource for this homework.

Homework #3, due Monday, October 28th at 11:59pm: Description Start code QvLib
For this homework you will need NV30 emulation and qvlib. Unzip the two files so that the 'hw3' and 'qvlib' directories are in the same directory. For this homework, the following resources will be useful:

• cubeWithNormalNoise.iv - I forgot to include this input file in the zip. You can use it for testing.
• Jonathan Shewchuk's Papers - from here you can download "An Introduction to the Conjugate Gradient Method Without the Agonizing Pain."
